The University of Queensland’s new research of eye melanoma has found a simple blood test could become the new tool for early detection of the cancer.

The blood test can differentiate between a benign mole and melanoma, as well as identify if and when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.

Additionally it has the potential to be used as a monitoring tool by optometrists, GPs and specialists.
