A traditional smoking ceremony by the Wurundjeri people of Victoria will open the 10th Annual Native Title Conference in Melbourne tonight. The conference theme is Spirit of Country – Land Water Life ….and land rights, sea rights and even river rights will be on the agenda. Along with lawyers and traditional owners the conference will host mining companies and other business interests. Convenor Dr Lisa Strelein says its a chance to get everyone together and lay all issues on the table.
