Fans of reality TV show My Restaurant Rules may have caught the minor slip up in payrolling at Sydney’s Pink Salt restaurant. The televised confrontation between the restaurant’s head chef and his boss Evan Hansimikali over workplace agreements prompted a visit from the Office of Industrial Relations, investigating claims staff were being paid according to agreements they’d never actually agreed on. Annie Owens of the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union says the Pink Salt scenario is typical of Australian Workplace Agreements.
