In 2007 Sonya Ryan’s 15 year old daughter, Carly Ryan, was groomed by an online predator who lured her to a South Australian beach and murdered her. The tragedy prompted Sonya to set up a foundation in Carly’s name to educate young people and their parents about the dangers of cyber crime. The Carly Ryan Foundation this week launched Thread, a new phone app to help protect people from online stalkers.
