The Police Association is taking aim at a broad spectrum of politicians prior to the NSW election.

They say that the police to population ratio in Western Sydney is way down, and there needs to be 250 added to effectively police a huge area.

With highly publicised gangland shootouts in the area in recent years many residents would be happy to see more police on the beat.

But the Police Association believes getting domestic violence under control would have the most efficacy.
