Minimum wage decision disappoints business and unions

In June the Fair Work Commission managed to disappoint both unions and industry with its minimum wage decision. After looking at the numbers and considering submissions from 26 groups the Commission decided to award a $16 per week wage increase or 42 cents per hour. It’s far less than the $27 dollar a week increase by the Australian Council of Trade Unions asked for and nearly three times as much as many business groups wanted.
