Religion Unites The Middle East. Especially when it involves Holy Wars. Religion also deeply divides the Middle East. Sunni’s & Shiites have been locked in an epic battle over who should rightfully lead the faithful since Prophet Muhammad’s death.The Awakening Council operating in Iraq have greatly contributed in reducing violence and controlling Al-Qaeda activities in the region. They are soon to be disbanded and absorbed with the Iraqi defence services However there is one issue…..They are mostly Sunni’s while the Iraqis they are helping are mostly Shiites. The US forces have indicated… moving out of the region while trouble continues to boil over in Afghanistan.
