Last night residents of Lismore were again told to evacuate as torrential rains caused the Wilsons River at Lismore to rise.

This time, the levee might be high enough to prevent flooding in parts of the town but North and South Lismore and Kyogle residents were being urged to leave high danger areas as soon as possible.   People in the Tweed River catchment also were filling sandbags with an evacuation order issued for Tumbulgum and surrounding areas.

Anyone in difficulty should call 000 or the SES 132 500 for help.
