Australia is having a long and slow debate about how best to recognise its indigenous people in the constitution. A new book has collected opinions from the conservative side of politics. it includes some novel suggestions such as a poetic declaration similar to a Bill of Rights. The hitch is this would be instead of a constitutional preamble. Instead it would be read out at public occasions.
