As the Federal Government announces an increased rollout of the cashless welfare card, is it really helping the recipients to stop gambling, drugs or alcohol? Critics say any reduction in disadvantage is due less to the card than it is to the increased services rolled out to trial sites. And there are concerns that such funds will disappear if the card gets the OK from Parliament and is rolled out nationally.
