Inquiry to seek information on children in detention

The Human Rights Commission has announced a new inquiry into the mental health impacts of children being held in Australian immigration detention. The move is in response to the the information clamp-down about off shore processing centres, and the inquiry could see the Commission’s President compelling the government to provide details about the well being of child asylum seekers.
