Des Jones, chairperson of the Murdi Paaki regional assembly believes the high rates of indigenous incarceration in New South Wales are evidence of “entrenched racism” within the police force. With New South Wales incarcerating indigenous people at 11.3 times the rate of non-indigenous Australians, he spoke to The Wire to share his perspective on the issue.
