The Law Council of Australia today released its latest report into the ongoing detention and upcoming trial of Australian terror suspect David Hicks. The report concludes the Australian’s chances of receiving a fair hearing have deteriorated during the past 11 months. It says Hicks’ military commission will contain no rules of evidence and the lack of live testimony will protect the prosecution from inquiry into the methods under which the statements by the other detainees were obtained. The US Court of Appeals recently approved the military commission trial of a Yemeni citizen held at Guantanamo Bay SALIN AHMED HAMDAN. And this decision has given the green light to the Pentagon to go ahead with the prosecution of Hicks and other Guantanamo Bay detainees.Lisa Leong asked David’s father Terry Hicks how he feels about the court decision.
