Greens put minor parties offside with senate voting proposal

A rift has opened between the Greens and a host of minor parties on senate voting reform. The Greens favour a system where voters could have the option of numbering 1 to 6 above the line. But minor parties say that would drastically reduce the likelihood of them gaining support and disenfranchise the 20 per cent of the electorate who voted that way in the last federal election.
