Greens introduce bill to forbid import primates to other countries

On the 22nd of November, the Greens introduced a bill to ban the import of live primates for research The illegal trade in primates is recognised as one of the biggest threats to biodiversity conservation. Wildlife monkeys are caught in barbaric ways, kept in filthy crowded conditions and transported inhumanely.

The Australian Greens have introduced a new bill to address the cruel and inhumane trade in intelligent, live primates  caught in the wild and sold to a booming research market.The Greens see this bill as a small but achievable first step in addressing the cruel and inhumane primate export trade.
