The NSW government is closing down the only free complex trauma service in the state, just weeks after a special inquiry recommended greater support for non- government service providers in the area of child protection. Dypmna House offers counselling and support to sexual assault victims, and has long standing staff- some for up to 8 years- in an industry known for worker burn out. The service is due to be closed on December 12th, with the Department of Community Services citing dissatisfaction with the organisation.
