We’ve all heard stories about the Global Financial Crisis and how it has hurt Australian jobs, industries and the economy. But how often do we think about young people and their transition to work or study during an economic collapse? A report from the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) shows the number of teenagers not in full-time work or study has reached 16.4 per cent, a jump of 3 per cent since the start of the Global Financial Crisis. These levels are at their highest since the previous recession of the 90s.
