A town in the north of Western Australia has proposed a cultural trek for at-risk Aboriginal youths. The Rangga-Ranggab program would allow local Miriuwung and Gajerrong elders to bring the kids closer to their culture to prevent them from offending.

The community believes the program could see fewer of the town’s children taken away from their country to the Banksia Hill Detention Centre in Perth.
