Frankenfish or “AquAdvantage”? The debate over GM Salmon

The company that engineers them calls them “AquAdvantage”; those that oppose them call them “Frankenfish.” Genetically modified Salmon is currently awaiting approval by the Food and Drug Administration in the US, and anti-GM campaigners aren’t happy about it. They say that the enhanced-growth fish could endanger wild fish stocks overseas, and could eventually find their way to Australia. But aquaculture experts say Australia has little to worry about when it comes to GM fish.
