A compulsory income management scheme with origins in the NT intervention could become more widespread if proposed amendments to legislation pass the Senate. Proposed social security legislation that could pave the way for a national roll out of a compulsory income management scheme for welfare recipients is currently before a Senate Committee. The Public Health Association of Australia yesterday made a submission against the amendments at a public hearing yesterday.
