Opinions are divided over whether the G-8 summit will deliver on its promises to transform Africa and provide relief to some of the poorest countries in the world. Gerry Rawlings was the President of the West African nation of Ghana for nearly two decades before he retired from politics in 2001 and has very definite views on why the continent has gone backward, and what needs to be done to stop its decline. He spoke to Peter Godfrey.
