Boris locks down England as COVID-19 cases explode

Boris Johnson has put England back into lockdown, after daily cases have tripled within the last month and total contracted cases surpassed 850,000. Many believe that the Johnson government have been far too reactive and that this decision has come very late.

The plan is to ease these restrictions again on the 2nd of December, but how can Johnson be sure this is enough time to reduce chances of yet another spike?
