The Wire

“Emerging” is a term we usually associate with the young – so an art exhibition titled Emerging Elders may sound a little strange. However, according to the National Gallery of Australia it’s not unusual for Indigenous elders to take up art later in life. The gallery in Canberra is showcasing some of this work in an exhibition that opened on the weekend. Emerging Elders will be on display until June next year.
