It sounds a little bit crazy, but the CSRIO is about to deliberately introduce two new species of dung beetle. But before you say, “cane toads”, it’s actually a good thing. Dung beetles have been solving Australia’s poo problem for the past 50 years. The beetles compete with flies for food, and help increase the health of soil.
