Travellers warned to avoid China in dramatic travel advice from the Australian Government

The Department of Foreign Affairs and trade has delivered ominous official advice to Australians to not visit China, warning travellers they may be detained and recommending anyone there come home immediately. The advice has been prompted by the passing of Hong Kong’s draconian new security laws and is a clear message to the tens of thousands of Australians working there and their friends and families. It’s also a ‘gloves off’ redefinition of Australia’s relationship with China.
