Demand outstrips supply for social housing in Australia

The Productivity Commission has released a paper, highlighting some of the issues facing social housing in Australia.

The paper noted that more than 200,000 people are on the waiting list to receive subsidised housing, but that this will come at a cost.

Experts are warning that an invisible housing crisis is underway with elderly pensioners who rent privately at the greatest risk.
