There has been speculation in the media today that the aged-care sector could be facing a $2 billion hit, including a five per cent cut in subsidies to nursing home in this year’s federal budget. But with aged care housing already under strain, many are questioning whether these cuts are actually possible.
The Wire contacted Minister for Finance Penny Wong, but she said she wouldn’t comment on speculations.
