Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced yesterday that community television will have to move off the ‘sixth channel ‘ it currently occupies to free up valuable bandwidth that can be sold off. He suggests that they can broadcast just as effectively over the internet. The sector disagrees, and says the timing of the announcement is effectively a death warrant.
