Community legal services are at risk of losing funding thanks to restrictive new criteria put in place by the Commonwealth government. Under the new service requirements, 85% of clients receiving casework services must be evaluated as financially disadvantaged. If state community legal centres don’t meet this new guideline, the Commonwealth government will not provide payment for that state.
