A protest today has called on the New South Wales government to stop a Chinese-owned coalmine in the Hunter valley from continuing to expand. Protest organiser Scott Franks says the Wonnarua people and local farmers are determined to halt the next stage of drilling which they say will will destroy important Aboriginal heritage sites and also the ecology of the valley.
