This year Cape York Partnership celebrates its 20th anniversary of its Leaders Program, which has been a major success in closing the gap for disadvantaged, remote Indigenous students.
Though the program provides employment opportunities and scholarships for indigenous kids, Cape York Partnership is urging to policymakers to scale up support.
Currently the program only offers limited placements for students with many talented individuals forced to miss out.
