The housing crisis in Aboriginal communities might seem like old news, but it was only in the sixties that Governments decided Aboriginal communities ‘needed’ to be housed. Now, the framework used to assess problems within current housing arrangements is being challenged. When social services and departmental policies determine ‘overcrowding’ by how many people there are per room, they are missing the point researchers say.
