Run by the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), National Aboriginal and Islander Children’s Day falls on the 4th of August every year. This year the theme, ‘My Culture is Me – I am Proud and Strong’ emphasises the positive influence an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child’s cutlure has on their well being. Hundred of remote, rural and urban community and government schools and services participated in celebrations commemorating this day.
