Aboriginal rights activists, trade unions and welfare recipients are gearing up against the Creating Parity report by mining magnate Andrew Forrest. Outside the SA Labor Party convention they held megaphones to oppose the Welfare card they say only hurt the vulnerable. Inside they continue to lobby front and backbenchers to steer away from the expansion of the punitive measure. Historian and renowned author Humphrey McQueen says these measures are the beginning of a bigger attack on Australians.
