Calls for education transformation as students with disability face exclusion

Advocates say ‘education transformation’ is needed in Australia, calling for greater investment as they look to navigate improved outcomes for students living with disability.

This follows recent survey results which show exclusion and bullying rates are widespread amongst students with disability in Australian schools.

 

In a statement, Education Minister, Jason Clare said that “funding is critical but so is what it does.” The department says an independent panel will be appointed to help provide advice to inform a better and fairer education system. The review will focus on driving real improvements in learning and wellbeing outcomes for students.
