Qantas today announced a half year loss of 300 million dollars and said it will be shedding 1000 jobs next year. Three senators have called the airline’s performance a disgrace and called for the resignation of CEO Alan Joyce and his board.
Qantas have over the past week been complaining about unfair cometition from Virgin and asking for the government to further suppirt the national airline. Senator Alex Gallacher says its performance is a result of bad business decisionsin Asia.
