US President George Bush has vetoed a bill on stem cell research sparking another one of those — ethics versus health benefits debate on the issue. Back home, Australia’s been debating the beliefs of the religious people who think it is unethical against others who simply support the possible benefits for the human race. Director of ‘Gene Search’, Robin Craig spoke to Rachna Subir Sen about the absence of any real excuses for banning embryonic stem cell research. Theologist from Flinders University, Andrew Dultney spoke about the origins of the ethical beliefs on the issue.
