But others, including the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, would like to see the acknowledgement of non-Christian Australians in parliament, or a more universal prayer that is not exclusively Christian. NSW Greens MP Lee Rhiannon says the debate needs to be discussed at a state level as well.
