When thinking of HIV and AIDS some might be more inclined to associate it with places like Africa or Asia. However new Australian figures indicate that HIV has increased by 50 per cent in the last decade.

Mark Vandenhurk first found out he was HIV positive in 2004. He says that it is not the illness that is hard to live with but the stigma. He believes more needs to be done to make people aware of what HIV is. According to Professor John de Witt up to three quaters of gay men are diagnoised HIV positive ever year but it is not just this group that needs to be vigilant.
