Australian company Zip co. has taken a step forward on pregnancy loss, offering its employees two weeks paid bereavement leave for pregnancies up to 20 weeks.

Zip co. said they hope the introduction “would help to remove the stigma surrounding miscarriage and help employees to recover from what can often be a physical and mental trauma”.

The move follows New Zealand’s decision last month to enable women and their partners to take three days paid leave for miscarriage and pregnancy loss.
