Analysis from the Stockholm Environment shows Australia is at risk of blowing its carbon budget in six years if we continue polluting at our current level.

It also shows that emissions reduction commitments taken to the Paris Climate Summit last year would see the global carbon budget exhausted by 2030.

But while the world waits for nations to follow through, scientists and advocates warn the time to forestall serious warming is running out.
