Community gardens only began in Australia in the 1970’s and in recent years they’ve really taken off. Jackie Hunter is a coordinator in the Community Gardens movement and she says they’re no longer just confined to trendy areas. She says they have social benefits to a community as well as making fruit and vegetables more easily available.
