National Day of Action against Coal Seam Gas Mining was observed in many areas of regional Australia over the weekend. Protest actions were held in remote and regional areas of Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.
Families were joined by experts and farmers who turned up in thousands in remote areas of Kyogle & Illawarra NSW, Scenic Rim in Queensland and Margaret River in Western Australia. Annamarie Reyes spoke to an Indigenous elder of the BUNDJALUNG nation who are the custodians of the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
