Greens Senator for Western Australia Scott Ludlam has openly criticised Tony Abbott’s aggressive move to pass the Data Retention Bill, without giving the parliament enough time to consider the findings of the joint standing committee. Mr Ludlam, who also runs a Senate inquiry into the telecommunications access scheme, says the Liberal leader is only using the policy to cover his failings in his own party.
