This week parliament has formally voted to dismantle ATSIC and there are other changes afoot to reduce the level of services for remote communities. A recent paper by the Centre fo Independent Studies argues the case for assimilation of Australia’s indigenous population. Professor Gavin Mooney from the WA’s Curtin University says the government has an historical agenda for indigenous Australians.
