A group of people working in the palliative care industry have arrived in Parliament House this afternoon to launch National Palliative Care Week.

Speaking to federal politicians, they want to see more invested in end of life care. According to Palliative Care Australia, there has been a 30 percent increase in demand for the palliative care services since before the Covid-19 pandemic. An aging population is further compounding pressure on services, but the latest federal Budget didn’t seem to account for a jump in demand.

National Radio News and Community Radio Network Political Correspondent Amanda Copp, spoke to the CEO of Palliative Care Australia, Camilla Rowland.
