With rumours overseas aid could be cut as the government strives for a surplus in next weeks budget, the Australian Council for International Development today released an Open Letter to Prime Minister Julia Gillard signed by over a hundred high profile community representatives, including Hugh Jackman, Geoffrey Rush, Jimmy Barnes and the Wiggles. They’ve joined forces to ask Prime Minister Gillard to keep the bipartisan promise to increase official development assistance to 0.5% of Gross National Income by 2015.
