In November, Australia will preside over negotiations at the United Nations COP31 in Ankara, Türkiye – hoping to mediate between governments and find agreement to accelerate action on climate change.
But last month saw another conference, in Colombia, sidestepping the delicate consensus and industry lobbying of the COPs to focus on practical action.
