Today the government announced a new bargaining incentive (NBI) which will force large technology companies to pay for the news content used on their digital platforms.
Replacing the news media bargaining code, the NBI will pace a 2.25% levy on organisations like Google, Meta and Tiktok that can be offset if these organisation enter into agreements with news organisation.
