10 years on from the overturning of the NT voluntary euthanasia law

10 years ago today the Federal Government overturned a voluntary euthanasia law enacted in the Northern Territory. This was the first in the world and the government sent a clear message by overrulling the NT government, as they have also done last month with the banning of The Peaceful Pills Handbook a guide to assisted suicide. This report begins with Phillip Nitschke co-author of the Peaceful Pills Handbook and an advocate for euthanasia who says government is pandering to the religious right and should be listening to the public opinion.
